What's a road trip without the fun? Why bother driving to far destinations when you can't enjoy the journey? And why waste your time in a car that doesn't suit all your needs?

With all these in mind, the new Honda Jazz decided to challenge all the fears and worries of any adventure-seeking driver. Last October 14-24, four separate batches, involving 34 media participants, visited the different scenic spots in Ilocos Norte. Passing through different northern destinations, they tested the superior driving performance of the all-new Honda Jazz.

First off, they were briefed on the new features of the Jazz, after which, the Lifestyle media participants immediately competed in the Utility Contest. They were tasked to place the given boxes in the car and the first one to load it all up wins. With the Honda Jazz's versatile ULTRA seats, participants had an easy time configuring the seats because of its one-touch mechanism. It seemed impossible at first but with the Jazz's different ULT (Utility, Long and Tall) options, items as long as surfboards or as bulky as beer cases were easily stored.

Leaving the boxes behind, the teams proceeded to test-drive the Honda Jazz. For the participants to truly experience the Jazz, they were given clues to help them look for certain "treasures". Unlike driving from point a to point b, everyone got to see for themselves the Jazz's abilities in a  fun and exciting way. Stopping every so often to look for more clues, the participants personally experienced the Jazz's improved suspension, it's maximized stability and minimized body roll,  the drivers behind the smooth and exceptional ride quality of the Jazz.

Fuel Economy was another major concern successfully addressed by the Honda Jazz.  With the Fuel Economy run, the participants eagerly joined the challenge where the team with the least fuel consumption from Pagudpud to Laoag wins. Consuming 30.39 kilometers/liter finish, the winning team proved that the Jazz is indeed fuel-efficient. Driving with the Hondaуs new i-VTEC engine gives the car plenty of power at a price that keeps one all smiles for miles. And while it was fulfilling to reach the destination, nothing beats having to slow down and enjoy the sceneries of Burgos, Paoay and Bangui. With the Jazz's easy and smooth transmission, as well as its paddle shift feature, shifting gears has never been more fun.

A perfectly enjoyable blend of control and comfort. But what's a test- drive without really testing it out on tough roads? Participants who joined the Motoring batch experienced driving on the mountain roads of Patapat and Sarat. The Jazz easily managed the narrow streets with its smooth and swift handling, which was especially felt while parking in small spaces and when making u-turns.

Our friends from the media, coming from the lifestyle and motoring beats, saw for themselves how the Honda Jazz truly lives up to being a Fun Utility Vehicle. With the different exciting challenges, this was more than just an ordinary test-drive. Tested and proven, this amazing northern adventure demonstrated the great things that the Honda Jazz is capable of, and showed to one and all that while the new Honda Jazz may be a small car- it's built inside and out for big fun.
